Safety is a Major Priority

The Ford Motor Company is in the business of making vehicles safer for our customers. That’s why in 2020, the Explorer earned it a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

For 2021, this award-winning safety returns with key standard features like forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.

Power That Never Disappoints

The Ford Explorer is renowned for power, and in 2021, this hasn’t changed a bit.

On the 2021 Ford Explorer’s base, XLT, and Limited trims, this ride will come standard with a 300 horsepower 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. More high-end models, like the Platinum and ST trims, will receive a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces 365-hp and 400-hp respectively.

The Ford Explorer hybrid has also returned for 2021. This model can get up to 318 horsepower using the combined power of a 3.3L V6 gasoline engine and high-performance electric motor.
