If you dream of exploring the open road, then this is the SUV for you. The Ford Explorer has all kinds of capabilities that’ll help you reach your destination. This model comes standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and a 10-speed automatic transmission with selectShift® capability to ensure you have dependable performance on the road.

Intelligent 4-wheel drive (4WD) is available for drivers who want some extra traction and support. Plus, this available drivetrain comes with Terrain Management System™ and seven selectable drive modes. Choose which drive mode you need with the easy-to-use center console dial.

You’ll have performance enhancing settings such as Normal, Sport, and Eco modes as well as modes designed for specific terrain and situation, such as:

  • Trail
  • Deep Snow/Sand
  • Slippery
  • Tow/Haul

Behind all the power, the Explorer will have one of three available engines. The 2.3L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine has 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 engine has up to 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque available. Additionally, the available 3.3L Hybrid engine can achieve 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque.

While you have room for up to seven passengers, the Explorer also has 18.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear row. You can reconfigure the rear-row seating and cargo arrangements with the available third-row PowerFold® seats. In fact, with the rear and middle rows folded flat, you’ll have a maximum of 87.8 cubic feet of cargo volume.
